Nowadays, the number of older adults are rising worldwide. Understanding older adults’ health problems could be able to minimize negative complications as well as improving older adults’ quality of life.
The objective of the course is to provide the student with a better understanding of the concept of gerontological nursing.
This course addresses concept of comprehensive geriatric assessment to early detect health problems or diseases in older adults and concept of family caregiving to promote high quality of care. We will also focus on older adults’ health problems related with atypical presentation, common age-related eye and ear problems, and frailty and sarcopenia with update nursing care.
