WANG Mei

Professor, Leiden University, the Netherlands

Professor Wang is the founder and President of “Leiden University-European Center for Chinese Medicine and Natural Compounds”, Leiden University, Netherlands. She also serves as the Chief Executive Officer of SU Biomedicine BV, a subsidiary of the Netherlands Academy of Applied Sciences（TNO）. Dr. Wang is currently representing the Netherlands, serves as an official expert member of the European Pharmacopoeia Committee on Chinese Medicine. She is Director of the Dutch Association for Phytotherapy (Director of Education and Research), Council Member and Chairman of the "Regulation Group" of the Association for Regulating Traditional Chinese Medicine (GP-TCM RA) and visiting professor of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Dr. Wang has published more than 160 scientific papers, obtained 2 patents. She is deputy editor of Phytomedicine and supervised 15 doctoral students to obtain their doctoral degrees at Leiden University. In 2018, she won the International Qhuang Award and Second Prize for scientific and technological Progress of 2020 World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies International Contribution Award of Chinese Medicine.
