This course showcases the role of international organizations in promoting children's health and development, using the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) as a prime example.
The course curriculum includes various aspects, including the history, mission, and initiatives of UNICEF in China, with a particular focus on child health, nutrition, environmental health, and emergency response. Moreover, by introducing emerging trends, innovative concepts, and effective strategies employed by international organizations in the field of children's health and development, the course aims to broaden students' international perspectives, inspire passion for learning, and encourages them to explore potential career oppotunities.
The course is designed based on crucial work of the UNICEF China office, primairly in hild health, nutrition, and environmental health. In addition to powerpoint presentions, the course utilizes case studies and Q&A sessions to ensure an immersive and engaging learning experience. In addition, this course also place a special focus on the WASH sector (Water, Sanitation & Hygiene), students will be introduced to its historical evolution, crucial significance, global and national targets and progress, and real-world service scenarios.
