As one of the birthplaces of the modern medical education in China, Tongji Medical College of HUST (TJMC) enjoys a rich history of more than 110 years. Jointly founded by governments of both China and Germany in Shanghai in 1907, TJMC has always been one of the top medical schools in China. More than 10,000 students of TJMC study in a various health-related disciplines, including medicine, public health, pharmacy, nursing, health management, forensic medicine, stomatology, etc. The 10 affiliated hospitals offer enormous strength to promote people’s health as well as to serve as stable bases for clinical talent training.
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought immense uncertainty and challenges to our world today. In responding to and learning from these challenges, Tongji Medical College launched the first-ever Tongji Summer Program in 2021, offering emerging medical leaders worldwide a unique interdisciplinary platform to be immersed and inspired. Supported by TJMC, Tongji Summer School covers diverse topics in medical disciplines including epidemiology, clinical medicine, nutrition, reproductive health, health management and traditional Chinese medicine, etc. Through a tailor-made curriculum featuring both theoretical lectures and innovative and interactive activities, participants will explore innovative methods to build their sustainable development.
"2024 Tongji Summer School" is an important part of the "HUST Global Summer School", hosted by the Office of International Affairs of HUST and co-organised by the School of Public Health of Tongji Medical College. We have invited a number of medical experts from our global partner institutions to give courses, covering a wide range of disciplines such as clinical medicine, public health and nursing, etc. A total of 8 courses will be offered, 3 of which will be taught by global experts onsite at HUST.
Combining world-class universities' teaching and research resources, this summer school aims to inspire global students to greater understand the medical challenges faced by the post-pandemic world, to gain deeper perspectives and awareness through a global mindset, and to enhance cross-cultural communication and interdisciplinary skills.
